Hey...I went there back in 2000. Absolutely gorgeous. Reminded me very much of Hawaii....Humid and very warm, the water is warm and crystal clear. They have private islands and beaches you can book side trips to.

Ixtapa is the tourist area and Zihuatanejo is more where the residents live. However as I remember it, not that many foreign tourists like in Acapulco or Cancun. It seemed like a lot of Mexicans go on vaction there. Along with many from Spain (I think several of the hotels there are Spanish owned).

They have a "pulga" (flea market) right across from the main drag of hotels and many clubs in the Hotels (even though we didn't hit any because we had our three daughters with us).
