Is there a doctor in the house (professional or amateur)?

I have a bad sore throat, a post-nasal drip and I can feel the sickness in my ears, as well. Are there any foods I should avoid for dinner? Anything that would be particularly good?

absolutely no dairy.

I strongly believe post nasal drip is your body trying to get rid of mucus, which is exasterbated by dairy--or meat in general.
If you can fast on juices and fruit/veggies, or even just water--it will clear up much faster.

Warm, clear liquids are soothing to the throat and can help aid breaking up phlegm. Which is why chicken soup is oft recommended. But since I don't eat chicken anymore, a spicy noodle soup would do. smile
Avoid caffeine and other things that dehydrate you.

Milk and dairy can help create more phlegm in the throat. Yuck.

And sounds like you need to see a doctor. comfort

apple juice thins mucous

homemade extra spicy chicken soup might kick its ass
use a whole chicken with lots of onion, garlic, fresh thyme, rosemary and dill natural unbleached sea salt<eat it all over a couple days.
add some extra hot dried peppers.

affrin temporarily cleared up my ears sinuses when nothing else would with just a spray in each nostril every 12 hours.
And that's what the Dr. recommended (affrin) after I went there for basically nothing. Nyquil, nothing would make it stop, but affrin did.

Get yourself three lemons, suck all the juice out of them, and wait like an hour before eating anything. That should pretty much knock out the sore throat(unless something serious is going on...do you have a fever as well? do you feel really beat up?).

As far as the nose and the ears, take some allergy medicine and that should knock that out, but it'll take maybe a day or two for it to kick in. Hot tea is good for that as well. If you can take it you could also pound a few hot peppers. That will definitely clear you out. lol

Thanks for taking the time to post this. hug I don't know if I have a fever.

I try to avoid medication whenever possible, so I'm just trying to rest and eat properly.
