what it all boiled down to... was feeling recognition for a job well done. well that, and a raise.
I had started a thread a couple of months back about my wanting to leave my job because of the stress I felt there. I had started interviewing and getting offers to do the same job, with less work, but more money. I had however signed on with my then current employer for a 2 year commitment (Jan 07-Jan 09) in return for a $10,000 sign on bonus. If I left the company, I had to pay the bonus back. I did put in my letter of resignation, and took a new job. I was at the new job for 3 days, during one of which I got a call from a district manager whose territory includes the city I reside in. He said that he had gotten word that I resigned, and wanted to talk to me about transferring to his territory. He knew my work, and spoke to others who knew my work and they said he shouldn't let me get away. I met with him and his boss, and over breakfast I told them my feelings. They said that things would be different because they run their district differently. I said I'm at a new job that pays me more than I was being paid. They said no problem. sooooo I'm back to working where I was, in a different location however, getting paid more. And I don't have to pay back the bonus. Point being...I haven't figured it out yet. Can you see what the lessoned learned here is? | |
