Do you take a stand in the face of injustice? Throughout history there have been many times when one group of persons has been put down by another, it happened long ago and it happens today...whether it be because of national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, race or colour. Sometimes messed up stuff happens right here on the org....who here makes it a point to take a stand and why? If you never take a stand...please share your thinking on that as well. Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Yes I do. Because I feel I have to. I am from Austria. Hitler was Austrian and he (among other reasons) became who he was because people did not speak up until it was too late. With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I take a stand more now IRL than online... but now I call it how I see it. If it makes one uncomfortable, so be it. I try to be tactful most of the times, just so I do not get written off as being bitchy. But I am quickly learning that it is better to just be honest in a brutal fashion, than to be a popular liar.

yeah...I do.
I think saying nothing is awful. My daughter once said that when she sees injustice occurring, she'll keep at it until its right. Why sit and do nothing? [Edited 3/27/08 15:09pm]

at the same time...injustice to one person could mean justice to the next....
i mean I've been called racist for fighting for what I believe injustice to mean to me. Justice can be subjective.

For sure. But I've gotten in trouble with some sketchy people in the past when I took a stand in situations...put myself at real risk. I was a bit more fearless when I was younger, and would just react without thinking much about it. These days, I try to put a bit more thought into it...maybe it's because I have a child and I worry about him and retaliation....but I can't just sit back and do/say nothing when I see injustice.

You don't have to think about it...if the situation looks sketchy just bust out a titty It's like a big cloud of weed smoke. It calms everyone down, or it makes them think you're crazy and they leave you alone.

I do have two of them and they usually like to work as a team.

You'd have to discuss that with them.

I don't know about taking a stand for injustice on the org But I'll offer up an opinion here and there. I like pointing out when folks carelessly use the word "midget" that it's actually considered a derogatory term by little people. But please, little people, if I don't stand up for you in a thread, don't think it's cause I hate you I also found the Eddie Murphy "Delirious" appreciation thread a bit weird cause of the homophobic content throughout his early material---sure we can brush it off as joking, but to insinuate that gay = AIDS, and normal contact = contracting the disease, was terribly irresponsible, and not funny in the least to me. But my crowning acheivement was defending single, hard working, professional men from the all those angry self-agrandizing stay-at-home mothers out for blood. That shit was the toughest thing I've ever had to do on the org.

Yes I do. But more so, I just don't feed the life and spreadable disease of injustice.
If more people just would not feed such acts or "go along" with... for whatever reason... being weak, fear of someone not "liking" you or just wanting to be accepted... or perhaps ones mind is just pure evil (they do exist)... it begins somewhere, it is born at some time/point, it is fed in so many ways. More people, more problems. Walk alone if you must, be real and be a good person... don't play the part or get infected by injustice. Make a difference in the world, for the good.
