My sister-in-law's had parents getting in her face for doing what the parents should have done long ago. You have to have the patience of Job to handle that nonsense. I couldn't do it - I'd wind up in jail for assault with intent to kill.

Be glad if that's ALL they do. My friend is a principal at an elementary school in NYC and 6 months ago a parent attacked her and 2 other officials because the 3 or 4 kids that were attending the school were being abused and child protective services had told my friend not to release the kids to the mother when she arrived. So of course, a fight broke out and my friend's jaw was broken. The fruit don't fall too far from the tree and I DO fear for the future. disbelief sigh

Well. my brother's a cop, so if the shit gets serious, he'll handle it.

Nobody teaches kids right from wrong anymore. No one is there to police what kind of media they have access too. Porn, violence.... they've seen it all by age 10.And they behave like it's like A Clockwork Orange in the playgrounds. I'm not being dramatic, this is what I know to be true. Teachers can only do so much. God, fear for the future.

You're absulutely right about this. I have another friend who is a principal of an elementary school here in Dallas and the stories he tells me of hoochie mama mamas that are 13-15 years older than their kids make my head hurt. disbelief Also, last year his school was in the news because a 3rd grader was passing out blow jobs like lollipops at recess. It's a DAMN shame what goes on nowadays. Makes me not want to have kids at all.

I feel that way too. sad

After teaching for so long, would you say that kids, say in the last 10 years, are considerably more unstable or prone to violence than before??? Regardless, of what perceived wrong the teacher may or may not have done to the student the fact that 9 children would go through such organized planning to intentionally inflict harm on a teacher is absolutely ridiculous and frightening. I mean, what kind of world do we live in that this is even a plausible solution to 8 and 9 year-olds.

It seems like they're quicker to use hands/fighting to solve problems.

Thats because our stupid society has taught them they need not fear/or respect any adult. And I aint talking about terror...but you know that feeling you had when your mom told you not to do something....and you knew you were dead if you did it. Well, there are no more effective means of discipline. Some of these Ghetto mom's even come get in the faces of teachers and fight if their kid gets put in check. No matter how much I couldn't stand a teacher, I wouldn't have dared, even if she was a Royal bitch. She wouldn't even catch us whispering cuz we had a little respect that maybe included some healty fear. I missed the days of a paddle, but a teacher could still physically move you back then. Now they cant do so much as breath on you without the child having the power to file a 51A.

Well how's the no spanking thing working out for people now?

Kids don't respect their parents or any adults apparently. All my mom would have to do is give me the look to know an ass beating was coming if I didn't straighten up.

Teachers as well could take a kid into the hallway with a paddle and while I didn't like it when it happened to me, it seems necessary just to get the respect from the authority figures.

I've heard all of the arguments about teaching the kids violence and blah, blah, blah but all they need to do is turn on the television to get exposed to that. This is about having respect for the adult and these kids all need their little asses beat.

nod the kids in that fiction movie Lord of the Flies had no discipline and look what happened! If you ask me, it was an early glimps of reality TV
