Next Monday I start school! I'm nervous, anxious, stressed and happy all at the same time. My biggest fear is getting burned out and not managing my time properly. I will work my full time job 8-4 Mon-Fri, go to school 5-10 Mon-Thurs and still bartend Friday nights because I need the money.

God help me.

I've been averaging a vacation every 2-3 months...now I need to wait 8 months. I can kiss those late afternoon summer happy hours goodbye, as well as swimming in the ocean after work on a hot day

On the plus side I hope to drop 10lbs (no time to eat!) have great skin and get a new great career out of this. Keep your fingers crossed for me and if you live in the RI area come by for a facial, body treatment or a wax, I'll need the practice!

Most colleges offer an "Adult professional" program where the hours aren't nearly as insane.

Try checking with your college for that. Just make sure the program is regionally acredited.

This is an Esthetician School, they go by hours and part time meets 5-10 Mon-Thursday. It's not like a regular college and I have to put in 600 hours. You're only excused for 15 missed hours or so and you still have to make them up. They have a hand scanner to make sure it's you clocking in

My mom was a stylist while I was growing up. I've been surrounded by people in this industry for years but my mother frowned upon it because she didn't make any money. I've been in a very safe boring job for 8 years and it's time to do something I enjoy!

Lemme just say that a vacation every 2-3 months is unheard of So 8 months will NOT kill you You'll do fine, time tends to fly when you're that busy. & like you said, you'll come out on the other side doing something you love. Good luck, you can do it!

God, that is a tough schedule Carrie but like you say its only for 8 months, thats do-able And at least you will be done then! Very exciting!

But, it will kill you....it will. Don't expect to enjoy it. But you can expect to feel sooooo proud of yourself once you've finished No pain no gain!! I did 4 years, and I finished last June I am still tired lol
