Body jewelry that is stainless steel should not set off a metal detector. She must have had some cheap ass jewelry in her tits.

I'd raise some hell if I was her. Like was said above, peoplg go through with wedding rings and shit on without a problem. Or for that matter, earrings and other piercings. Hate to sound alarmist, but this smells like another case of overzealous guards harassing women. Remember the story about the breastfeeding woman who was made to prove she was lactating by squeezing her boobs at the guards?

thats exactly what it was in this case too..notice they let her go through with her belly ring in....bastards!

disbelief Lord...I'm so glad this has never happened to me.

I like to say I'd flat out refuse, but if I actually found myself in such a situation I'm afraid I'd get scared and buckle and just do the ol' shirt lift. neutral

No friggin WAY! omfg Day-yum...I missed that one when I was hanging out under some rock. Shizit....Oh hell...after my lawsuit, I woulda had my own Jet with a 24 hour pilot. pissed these pervs have too much control....

Yeah, that one was about a year or so ago, I think. There was definitely a thread here on the Org about it. If the search function wasn't so iffy I'd try pulling it up for you.

hmmm On further research (aka, a Google search) it seems the woman was forced to drink her own breastmilk to prove it wasn't a bomb, or some nonsense. So not quite as bad, but still obnoxious.

If she was wearing gold or silver it might've set off an alarm, especially if it was plated.

Well shame on her for wearing plated body jewelry then! You're only supposed to use stainless steel. Silver and plated body jewelry can cause infection.

I can't wear any stainless steel. I have a nickel allergy. All of my body jewelry is other stuff, mostly white gold.

White gold works well but it's expensive. Stainless steel does have some nickel in it but not as much as silver jewelry. I actually have a bit of a nickel allergy too and my body jewelry doesn't bother me at all. I can't wear rings on my fingers though!

I can wear sterling silver rings on my fingers with no issue, but all of my body jewelry is the expensive stuff.

lol awesome.

and whoever the TSA fuckers were who made her take her rings out, they were on some total bullshit. disbelief when at the airport, i've never had a problem with my septum ring in the 2 years i've had it. i remember asking one TSA worker if i'd have to take out my circular barbell while going through the metal detector and they were like "no, the amount of metal's so small we don't have to worry about it."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23830845/

Screening handled properly, airport concluded
She was taken behind a curtain and managed to remove one bar-shaped piercing but had trouble with the second, a ring.

"Still crying, she informed the TSA officer that she could not remove it without the help of pliers, and the officer gave a pair to her," said Hamlin's attorney, Gloria Allred, reading from a letter she sent Thursday to the director of the TSA's Office of Civil Rights and Liberties. Allred is a well-known Los Angeles lawyer who often represents high-profile claims.

Applying pliers to the torso of a mannequin that had a peach-colored bra with the rings on it, Hamlin showed reporters at the news conference how she took off the second ring.

She said she heard male TSA agents snickering as she took out the ring. She was scanned again and was allowed to board even though she still was wearing a belly button ring.

The last time I flew was in October, and this is what happen at the airport:

I walked through an exray type thing that can see under your clothing.
At the time, I had a nipple ring and all they did was run that wand thing over my top area before I went through. I know they saw it, thats why they scanned me one last time. Didnt seem like it was a big deal...

The people that pulled this stunt are in BIG DOO-DOO.....
Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
