i think the crystal ball and emancipation albums are some of his more upbeat. plus, they're super sized so you will not run out of music hope this helps

Its not Prince but the CD The Hissing of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell has always been empowering for me.

Yeah, definitely stay away from Snows in April and 17 Days.
It's a little hard to suggest some mood-lifting Prince for you, as my answers may be too subjective, but having said that, I love funny Prince for a mood lifter (anything Camille or dirty Prince). Also Inspiring-Prince can elevate my mood...think Purple Rain, The Cross, et al. Now, at the risk of being branded "gullible" or "crackpot" or whatever, I also want to suggest to you to read "The Secret" by Rhonda byrne, if you haven't already done so. Sure, it gets bagged and cops so much flak, but if you're willing to look at it like I have and concede that yeah, it may sound cheesy, but then go ahead and believe in it with all your soul...then I think it could help you, and any others who are ailing, be it physically, spiritually or emotionally. Believe me I'm the biggest sceptic mofo there is, and yet I have let the philosophy of this book seep into my heart. If you REALLY, I mean REALLY let yourself believe those (corny at times) words by Rhonda Byrne, well, then I think anything in the world is possible, particularly self-curing cancer. There are myriad cases globally of people willing themselves healthy through this principle, and I personally know many such people as well. But that said, of course it's imperative you continue with all your medical treatments. The Secret works best when you're entirely focused on constuctiveness and doing all you can to harness the power of belief. And medicine these days IS damn impressive. Anyway, I'll pray for you, and I do believe in the profound power of anything wished for/done in the spirit of compassion. I have no doubt you'll beat this thing. God Bless. PM me if you wanna discuss anything about The Secret, or anything else for that matter. I AM A GUY, YO G's.

Does it have to be Prince?
I played Zero7 cds when I was having my son. It's very relaxing and soothing music without being downer type tunes.
