Z Cult Joy/Narnia's Prince Caspian

When I was 13, I wrote the 8th book of The Chronicles Of Narnia. I titled it "Prince CoShea". As some of the orgers on this site knows, CoShea is my middle name. Anyway, I wrote a story centered around this child prince (me) who was the new prince of Narnia and I included all of the characters from all of the other 7 novels from The Chronicles Of Narnia into my story. As soon as I finished it, I went so far as to trying to get it published. Only to be informed that I was stepping all over plagerism. Hey, I was 13! But I learned a lot. Anyway, needless to say, I'm a life long fan of Narnia and I am looking foward to the new film Prince Caspian next month. Any fans of Narnia here?

Big Narnia fan here. Back in Elementary/Middle School, I was sick alot due to diabetes problems. I remember days of just reading these books. My favorite one of the series is Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Last year I just recently picked up The Last Battle because I forgot the story line of it.

My Sister has been a big fan since we were kids. She'd make us watch the "Lion, Witch & Wardrobe" cartoon every Christmas! xmas
When the movie came out, she dragged her b.f. and me along!

Okay, so I got hooked... I read the whole series, book after book (My Sis') in about 3 weeks. My fave is actually the first one, "The Magician's Nephew". I think it'd make a cool prequel. nod

Very cool. I love all of them. Of course my sentimental fave will always be The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I remember when I was 10 years old, CBS showed a two part series of an animated version of the L,W, and the W. I adored it to death. I've been a serious fan ever since. I had tears in my eyes watching the motion picture of L, W &W because they did such a fantastic job and it was so faithful to the story. But yeah, I dig The Last Battle because that's when the new character that I wrote picks up from. I also favor The Magician's Nephew and The Silver Chair. All of them are brilliant.

Don't know how many more films are going to be made after Caspian. Of course, it depends on how much money it makes.

I've read four of the books (the first four in chronological order).

My favorite was "A Horse and his boy", and Prince Caspian being my least favorite--but still an enjoyable read.

I need to finish the rest of the books actually.

I did no like the movie for Narnia. I doubt I'll like this one anymore. But then again, I felt the books had so much magic and wonder in them that the movie just seemed to fail to capture that properly.

That's too bad...I LOVED the first film. I thought they did an excellent job. Did as good of job that I thought was possible. The casting was perfect. And the Lion looked as real as a film could get it. I'm looking foward to seeing Caspian

Shouldn't they have started the films with the Magician's Nephew?

I dig it too but Lion's was the first one so it only makes sense to make a film starting from the beginning. Caspian is the second novel, so....

Nah..

I think it makes a better prequel. Now that people know who the characters are, it's cool to go back and see where the wardrobe came from, who the professor is, and the emergence of Queen Jadis and Aslan. Without the "background" that "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" provides, the movie might just seem like another fantasy film.

Exactly...I read an article with the producers of the first film long before the first film was released. They said that most folks, like themselves, who were nuts about the series stated that Lion was the one that everyone became familiar with. If many folks had never read the complete series, they had definately read Lion's. If no one had ever even heard of the other books, every one had heard of Lion. So it wasn't time for them to jump cute and technical with it. Put out the story that everyone was most familiar with FIRST.

GOd I love that book. woot!

I think they should do that one next.

Then when the current cast gets old enough , do "A horse and his boy" in which case they should be about the right age for that story?

confusing.

I love the books. I need to finish them.

If I had to put money down, I would bet that they do it in the order C.S. Lewis wrote them. And then, IF they do another film after Caspian, it's going to depend solely on if Caspian does well in the box office. Lion kicked ass in the box office, so.....
