I just saw my daughter, and the swelling has gone down some. As long as she lays on her left side and only gets up to go potty! But I took her some homemade chicken noodle soup, and some baby things I bought.

Moni all I can say is that this is a difficult time for u and 'ur family, but it's a cinch that 'ur daughter and her baby will get through this ok, because i've heard stories of this, and it usually turns out ok.

It is a great worry but if it is the condition then she is being monitored and in the best of hands. When I had my baby I know a couple of people who had the condition. One was induced early at 37 weeks and the other went term.

I am sure they will both be ok. It is a manageable condition and should they have to kick start things early at 36 weeks the baby will be just fine.

Just saw this thread. I don't get to this side of town much.

I had the same thing with my first child. Total bed rest. Also they allowed me no salt at all. They did induce labor, but it was just fine. She will be fine too. And tell her that the one good thing is that after the baby is born, you lose a whole lot of weight.

Did you go the full 40 weeks, or did the induce early?

Just tell her until she talks to her dr she should cut out ALL salt. That means any canned goods. Peas, corn, etc. They are loaded with so much sodium. Anything that's processed is totally out. That's the dangerous thing. If she does that and stays off her feet, she should be fine.
