I believe this totally. Seperating sex and love is great. And I do it all the time. Actually a lot of the time .
But I do believe that when you are madly in love, and the sex is good, there's something in that 1-two punch that can't be beat. And as silly as your comment is, it's spot on. I have a lot of friends who separate the two, and have 'booty calls' (yeah, I was guilty of this too), but they're always the same folks who end up dissapointed and feel self-concious and down on themselves every few weeks. When you're in love, everything just burns so much fucking brighter

oh, and awww...i don't think booty calls are anything to be guilty of. i think if you're going through a time in your life when there's more lust available than love, you should go with it, enjoy it to its fullest, and get it completely out of your system, whatever that implies and however long that may take. i don't think the "lust vs. love" needs to be a moral question as much as a practical one. lust is fun for the "now" and it's really cute for a while, but what about the long term? it's not a sexy way to think, but it's real. and being a lecherous lonely 70 year old isn't very sexy either. | |
