I'm lucky enough to have "perfect" vision, but I bought some lenses for a halloween costume a few years ago. It took me about 3 hours to get one in the first time (to practice) and about 30 minutes when I put them in that night.

All I can say is keep trying. comfort

it took me about an hour to get one contact lens in the first time i put them in. and it took me longer to get them out that evening. i had the problem of them sticking to my finger because there was too much solution, etc. etc. etc.

i was seriously crying ( falloff ) when i got the first one in my eye because i despise when i can't get things done that i want done.

tips... hmmm for the first few months, i looked up where i couldn't see the contact coming at my eye, put the contact in, and then looked down and ahead again. i can't think of much more than that, because trying to put contacts in is still a pain in the ass for me, a year and a half after i first got them. shrug

I tried to put in contacts and I think my eye almost fell out in the process, and since glasses annoy me, I've settled for subpar vision shrug

but why don't you check out some prescription sunglasses? My best girlfriend has a reeeally nice pair.

Or you could just keep trying with the contacts...Practice makes perfect!
If you will, so will I

I feel your pain. Though I have tried contacts for years and years. I am able to get them on my eyes, it is what happens during and when I want to remove them that makes it impossible to wear them. I was on a drug called Accutane many years ago for acne. One of the side effects is extreme dry eye. Which I already had due to allergies anyways. I did not believe that the side effects would be so severe and lasting but it was no joke. Every time I get my eyes examined the dr gives me a trial pair of the latest and greatest contacts to try.
I tried to wear them for my Aunt's wedding and I was miserable all night and in all of the pics I was blinking and felt like scratching my eyes out.
I am really bummed out and stressed because the glasses I have now were just cheap when I bought them, they are all scratched and are all bent out of shape and do not fit on my face comfortably. So now for my wedding day I am either going to look like a dork with my cheap glasses on or keep them off and not be able to see any of it and squint in all of the pics.
Don't even get me started on sunglasses.... I have a cheap pair of script sunglasses as well. I would love to be able to go into a store and just buy a pair of cool sunglasses.
I am so stressed out about this. pissed

Cool. Please do! It will probably get better with time. I know that when I used to wear them before I took the meds, it usually took a few days to get used to them. Your eyelid will need to get used to them.
Good luck!
I think you look pretty in glasses though...very stylish. You really can pull it off.

I would love to have that done. Though it has always been the cost and the whole keeping my eye open when something is coming at it thing that has stopped me.

You're not supposed to touch your eyes, so it's hard to get used to it.

I couldn't do it the first day, the eye doctor couldn't do it, and then all the sudden I did it no problem. I just had to let it go and come back fresh. like anything you can't do it when you're frustrated, and you don't want to be angrily poking youself in the eye!

I think maybe looking off to the side a bit as you do it helps. It's hard to look directly at a finger coming at your eye. This method might put the contact a bit off center, and you might get a little bubble under there, push your fingers under your eyelids to pop the bubble & get it into place. Souds horrible but it's really no big deal. The contact will naturally gravitate towards the right spot.

If it won't come off your finger, maybe it dried out a bit. Keep rinsing it off each time you try.

It'll work eventually.
