The battery is 20 hours though

All iPods have a hard drive mode. I think you have to push the play and select button for 5 seconds to place it in hard drive mode or something like that. I never use it though.

YOu can actually just keep the files in their orginal locations and "add to library" instead of doing the import feature.
But why the hell the device needed to go through Itunes I will never figure out.
Actually I know it's so the can market the iTunes music store, but still. annoying.

I do like the fact that the firmware and software gets updated through iTunes though--that can be an upgrade nightmare for alot of companies. But still doesn't make up for how rigid the requirement is.
