AHA! Dammit, I was right all along!! My fourth grade teacher and I argued back and forth about the word "often". I told her that you don't pronounce the 't', and she kept telling me I was wrong. lol

Speaking of threads. . . I've been avoiding saying this since the beginning, but why oh why, do people type woman instead of women and vice versa (BTW, visa versa is another verbal fuck up I can't stand)

For example, people on the org and everywhere on the net will type:

"She's a beautiful women" OR "They are beautiful woman." You (hopefully) don't speak like that so why would you type it???

The correct phrase is "spit and image." In a sentence, "He is the spit and image of his father."

the other one i hate, which is pretty much general because i've heard so many people say it, is when people say pronounciation instead of pronunciation. i mean i know it's pronounce/pronunciation but....really...disbelief...no....wrong....wrongwrongwrong.

I've heard people say "pa-nounce". Hoo, boy! rolleyes disbelief

the one that gets me is people that can't tell the different between specific and pacific.
whats more annoying is that I have to correct them every time.

I get it from young kids all the time around here: "I told him PACIFICALLY which store to go to." I'm all over them with that one. . . mad

I used to work for a credit bureau designing their training and one of our trainers would say "credick" instead of "credit." All day EVERY day. I'm like, how/why do you add a "ck" to the end of that shit when the word "credit" is written repeatedly in all of the class materials, the software application, and the fucking building. disbelief Makes no sense. The killin' part is that he didn't do this with any other word that ended in "it." One day I purposely asked him to edit something for me and worded it so he'd paraphrase my request and he said "edit" just fine. WTF is that about??? confused lol

It's almost as bad without the whole inexplicable 'boil' part ( lol ) just with people pronouncing it like it's some kind of major sporting event though, as opposed to hyPERbulee.
