My company has only 5 (or maybe 6) holidays they recognize for those of us at corporate. And I still sometimes have to support them from time to time on holidays anyway.

As a country we place far too much value on work and far too little value on life and family.

I also work on good-friday..all I can hope for is if my boss is in a good mood he will close the office at 1pm instead of 5:30pm.

ok, my situation is pretty much ridiculous.....but hey, it's me!! So I just got back from a week of skiing in Switzerland last Sunday, tomorrow early I will drive down to Munich and have a short business meeting in the afternoon. Then I will meet up with some friends for dinner & drinks, after that I will drive to Austria where the rest of my family will be to celebrate Easter, I'll be skiing on Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.....drive home again on Monday evening!

if you don't get it off just tell them you want it off for religious reasons.
