I am a huge fan as well! biggrin
I liked this one- It's weird. I never finished "Lisey's Story". I found it boring.

I finished Lisey's Story, but I didn't like it and couldn't wait for it to finish. I was bored with it too. Glad to hear this latest one is better.

What did U think of the "Dark Tower" graphic novel series? I bought the 1st three, then ended up buying the whole series bound.
I miss that series of novels.....

Oh, I loved all of those books. I could hardly wait for them to come out. Although, I must admit that I didn't love the last installment. I thought the
ending was weak and too unbelieveable. My fav is IT and The Stand, but I loved the Dark Tower series a lot.

I love those, too. nod
I also loved the way "Desperation" and "The Regulators" unfolded around each other.

I just finish reading Seven Years in Tibet. I loved every minute of it. I have not seen the film, but apparently it doesn't do it justice anyway. Coincidentally, lately there has been an uprising in Tibet, you've probably heard about in the news. As opposed to the Dalai Lama of today (the one we see on the T.V recently), the person that the author knew as the Dalai Lama back then was just a young boy , leading a lonely and very disciplined existence but fascianted by the world around him and with an unquenching thirst for knowledge. Today he has matured into a gentle old man. The Tibet that Harrer describes in the book is breathtaking and Lhasa seems other worldly with its unspoilt beauty. Life is so primitive but somehow it works. I would recommend it if you like travel writing, even if you dont. If you've read it, what did you think?

Freaky. A friend of mine just asked me yesterday if I'd read this book or seen the movie (I haven't).

This is intriguing me:

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, as it's occurred to me recently that I'd somehow managed to miss this one entirely. I've seen the movie (who hasn't?) but that's not the same thing. I'm onyl halfway through, but so far I think it's fucking brilliant.

I think there are certain books and movies and music a person just needs to see because of how signifcant they become to our pop culture and culture. This is one of those books.

Every couple of years I read this with my class. The kids love this book, and it sparks great discussions... nod
Enjoy!

Its a real easy read. I read most of it in one day, and I think I have like 20 pages left. Her life story is really sad. When she was just a kid she met her birth mother and the woman locked her in a closet naked, and went to sell her clothes for crack mad
