So true. It was a pivotal time in music and visual art. [Edited 3/13/08 21:17pm]

it might not be the most fun per se, but I think Berlin, spring of '45 would be incredibly interesting. Provided I didn't get killed in an air raid

Wow, I can't choose:
1.WW2, any country occupied by Germany. To help jews and resist the nazis. 2.North America, "the wild west". To help the native americans. Both of those would likely end up with me dead but I don't give a shit, I can't take it. Even knowing what happened fills me with anguish, for real. I don't know how many of you believe in past lives/reincarnation but I feel very strongly I've been a native american at one point, or maybe a white woman fighting for them. It's the strongest connection I feel with any point/situation in history, there are others but none as strong as these. One last though: 3. Back to my school days so I could do it better, all over again knowing what I do now. Then I'd be a doctor, in Darfur right now.

I would want to see The Soul Stirrers perform with Sam Cooke.
I would want to see Mahalia Jackson perform. I would want to see Maria Callas perform. I would wanna go back to medieval times, to see lands unravaged by humanity. To see, and experience, nature. Untouched. And maybe see a knight's tournament. That would be kewl. And see some castles. I also would love to go back to the sale of Vermeer paintings, just after he died penniless and his widow had to sell the lot. There are some paintings in the descriptions of the sale that since then were lost. And I would love to see the library of Alexandria before it was burned down. Oooh! And the pyramids, before they were stripped down.

Well, the 40's and 50's because the women were too fine (the movie stars)
60's for the women (Bridgette Bardoe, Sophie Loren), and the music scene was blowing up and 90's because of all the cool shit I remember from when I was a kid. Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

If I could go back in time, I would love to go back to the 80's. I loved that decade, life was so much easier back then, I had the time of my life during those years, and the music was a heck of a lot better too. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

[Edited 3/16/08 10:00am] isn't it awfully arrogant to assume that your personal intervention would make a difference for the better, though?

I didn't judge, I said I thought people presented shallow reasons. Judging is saying I'm better, I didn't do that. Surely you have to agree that dancing vs. trying to support people who are victims of genecide is comparable as far as shallowness. I still think so, and I again never said my "intervention" would make things better...only that I'd try.
