So I went to go see a movie's last showing tonight (I've seen it once before, but this is the ONLY movie I have ever felt the need to go see twice in the theater) and I took two people with me. I wasn't all that worried about a bunch of noise, since it's the last showing and it's out on DVD not too long from now - this is like the theater that everything that's really done goes to.

I'm watching the movie and the two people next to me will not quit talking. They talk to me, they keep doing things like throwing their jacket on my arm. At one point I gave one of them the momma look and their reaction was "We've all seen it before."

I didn't buy the tickets to listen to them talk. I should've moved seats but really.

Is it me or are movie theaters a perfect place to become annoyed?

Sometimes it's nice just to take yourself to the movie theatre

When I went to see Cloverfield there was a group of kids just gabbing away some distance away from me. Finally some dude said in a very calm but assertive voice, "Would you shut the fuck up." and everyone clapped.

They did indeed shut the fuck up.

During the same movie after a really intense part some guy said, "Oh...my...God". Doesn't sound funny here, but the way he said made me instantly burst out in laughter and in turn so did everyone else.

I love going to the movies.

I love going to the movies. We go to the late show, where there aren't many people, get cozy, cuddle a bit and enjoy the show.

I actually only go to upscale, arty movie houses anymore because I can't stand people who won't shut the fuck up. But even THEN you're not guaranteed a talk-free movie. I went and saw "Inside Deep Throat" and the dumb girl behind me wouldn't shut up. I finally turned around and told them to keep quiet in my own way — I said, "It's a blowjob! We don't need commentary!"

Addendum: I DO like seeing horror films and blaxploitation movies in ghetto theaters, though. Then you WANT the running commentary.

i love going; i just can't stand inconsiderate people who want to flap their jaws eternally. and unfortunately i'm not very assertive when people annoy me.

For some reason, I had this feeling that a jerk off Pee Wee Theater joke would be coming. Sorry Paul. Oh well. Since some of you took it there, its imperative to make sure that you're not sitting next to an individual with a long trench coat with his hands in his pocket.
