Verizon Voyager by LG... Yay or Nay?

I just bought the Verizon Voyager, made by LG. It will be delivered Tuesday... I've waited until now to upgrade because I got a $100.00 credit towards the purchase if I extended my contract, which I was going to do anyway...

So, have you heard any positives on this? Negatives? I have thirty days upon activation to decide to keep it or not.

Your thoughts?

Nice looking phone! Do the numbers appear on the touch screen on the front?

Just switched to Verizon recently and got one of these...

Yeah, I believe if you hit the "phone icon", it has the phone set-up like normal.

I love threads about cellphones lol On Friday,I finally upgraded and got a Moto Q Global

I've spent many weeks testing out new cellphones, trying to find the perfect one.I had a Razr before but I finally got tired of it.I wanted a "smartphone" with all the extras. So far,I'm impressed with the Moto Q Global. It's amazing all the things I can do with this phone.

Verizon has some great looking phones.I'm with AT&T/Cingular but if I ever decide to go elsewhere,it's gonna be Verizon.

I remember seeing the Voyager when I was last out in the States; thought it was cool.

I've just bought myself a Blackberry 8320 Curve

drool

After formerly having the piece of turd that was the Nokia N73.

I'm holding off renewing my contract though so that I can get this bad boy when he comes out:

I got an LG Venus...and returned it when I discovered that it wasn't compatible with the bluetooth in my car.

I have a Samsung Gleam (in purple) now.

My friend has Verizon and upgraded to the Envy. The rep on the phone advised him to buy the Envy instead of the Voyager because of some minor technical issues concerning the Voyager.

I am going to switch to Verizon because it is the only US company that offers a North American Plan. I want the Voyager myself.

A friend of mine has one and she really likes it. You need to check AT&T's coverage in your area, though. It sucks where I am - which is why I didn't get an iPhone, myself.

Oh - make sure you also check the data coverage area (in addition to the phone network). Otherwise, you'll wind up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, thinking you can look up directions on your iPhone...and be shit out of luck.

It's the Sony Ericsson Xperia. It's got incredible specs; it's an iPhone competitor (I think it's a little better technically, but only a geek will notice).

I heard you can't open pics sent by txt on the iPhone, though. eek

With Voyager, you can go directly to a browser and get online. I like that... and my coverage is pretty good with Verizon, and it's nationwide. So... so far, I'm liking the idea.

I get it tomorrow! excited

I have a Voyager and I love it. The key is taking advantage of all of the data features of the phone. VCastMobileTV, full HTML browser, MP3 player, it has 8 GB of expandable memory. VZ Navigator built in. 2.0 megapixel camera and camcorder. It's also one of the few Verizon phones whose bluetooth profile isn't completely crippled.

If you don't live in a VCast coverage area, then it kind of defeats the purpose of the phone.

I agree. When I got my LG EnV, I upgraded to a premium package. The VZ Navigator ROCKS!! It has got me out of many a directional jam, here in Detroit and in other cities.

VZNav is the truth. With everything on this phone, I truly feel lost when I don't have it by my side.

I work for Verizon Wireless and everyone has gone apeshit for that Voyager. I would say it's superior to the iphone and less expensive, but the fucker is still more than my car payment

My boss just got it, but it's just not practical to me

You gotta admit...the touch screen can be a bit finiky....

If there was a stylus for this phone I think it would be a little easier to use..love it though.... no one else ever wants to use it... yay!

It's very finicky. And I will admit, because I don't have iPhone envy at all, that everything the iPhone and Voyager have in common, the iPhone does better. But the Voyager does more. And the things they both do, the Voyager does well. Just not quite as well as the iPhone.

I think that made sense...

I speak "violator" so I get ya! thumbs up! And I agree... lol

My cousin is an iPhone investor (he made a mint last year on that stock...) anyways, he let me try out his iPhone before I bought my Voyager and I have to say I like my phone better....
