For those of you who identify as gay, bi, or not-so-straight, to what capacity are you "out"? How did you first reveal this to friends or family?

What was it like before then?


Stories would be appreciated.

For those of you who are 100% gay, have you been with someoen of the opposite sex intimately before?

I decided to tell my mom that I was dating a girl back in 2000. I only told her because I thought my mom would pick up on it when she saw us together and when I talked about her. Turns out my mom was totally oblivious to the whole thing.
I remember being on the phone with her and trying to tel her the round about way. I dropped some hints then she missed them. Then I would say a little more and then finally after trying to get it through to her for about 30 mins I finally came out and told her that I was with this girl. She still did not get it...finally after about 20 more mins it sunk in. Then I got the questions like what side of the fence do you plan on being on? How could you have been with men all along and now a women. When I called to talk to my dad I wasn't even finished my sentence and he said "Val, I know...you love her, I can tell, I am happy for you".
My mom saw me all of the time and my dad had not seen me in years and I did not grow up with him around. I think my mom was in denial I guess.

I've never had a same-sex experience, but if I ever do, I've figured out it will have to involve luxurious pillows and secret smells.

This is the only thing I've got.

I've had two close friends that have said they wanted to make out with me. I kissed both on different occasions but it did nothing for me.

I came out to my 3 sisters at once. One said nothing (I already knew she's bi) and the other two said they would pray it off of me. There is only one other person in my family I would want to even know but since he can't stop the "gay men are nasty" line, I have no desire to share that part of my life with him.

Most of my friends know and my co-workers know.

Actually I had kind of a gay dream last night.
