it seems like this one will stay through to what we remember about the Hulk from the series and the comics ... as where the previous one tried to surf on the action hero wave ...

One of my fellow graphic designers has seen stills from the movie(his company is making Hulk apparel). He says the Hulk & Abomination look awesome, and fans won't be dissapointed.

I even liked the first one. I thought Universal marketed it wrong. It wasn't a summer action flick, and unlike Spider-man, the themes in the Hulk are pretty dark(child abuse, split personalities, repressed anger, spousal murder, father-son relationships). It should have been a fall or winter release.

Im torn...on one hand Im a Hulk fan yet on the other hand the first movie was god awful...on the other hand the unintentional comedy from the first movie made me laugh.

Ok Ed Norton alone will make me give this a chance...This is my list of things I hope do and do not happen and this will be a good movie.

1. Fix the CGI...Hulk should not be half the size of a building...dude is 10 to 12 feet tall not 30 feet.

2. Fix the damn CGI...I don't want to see Hulk fighting Scrappy Doo again aka the gamma dogs...that was just plain corny (but funny in a terrible way).

3. Stop that stupid comic panel shit. The whole showing 8 angles from different spots so it looks like a comic did not work.

4. Destroy/kill/break something of importance...He threw tanks (in which the drivers climbed out after being thrown 50 feet to say "im ok kids! this movie is PG!!!" Bull...I want my Hulk breaking buildings and snapping necks...

5. Pick a villain that is not Nick Nolte like and actually has a form...not some big cloud of lighting/energy/or whatever the hell he was...That last scene in the Hulk movie was as confusing as hell.

and lastly...Fix the damn CGI!!!

I really liked the one from 2003, or whenever it was. It was an excellent film. Not sure it was a great super-hero flick, though. But then, that's the appeal of the Hulk. It's not just about smashing shit. It's about the raging beast of frustration getting out of hand in even the most mild-mannered of men.

From what I heard, the script for the new film isn't very good. But I think there have been a lot of re-writes since.

Are those pecs I see on Ed Norton?!? Maybe this won't be all bad.

Im sorry....I just cant picture Edward Norton as the HULK

Im not sure if i like the idea of all these remakes because someone makes an arse of it the first time round.
Take Batman for example,Tim Burton created it in a gothic style that was bloody brilliant.Joel Schumacher decided to turn it into a some kind of illuminious neon lit nightmare and felt the batsuit needed ice skates.
I thought the new Batman film was class but i feel if they hadnt buggered around with Burtons vision then it wouldnt have been needed.

Or am i missing the point and these films are just being made to introduce the characters to a new generation?

I'm ambivalent about the new "Hulk" movie. Especially so soon. It's only been, what, 5 years? And I did like a lot about the one from 2003. I thought as a film, it was very good. BUT, it was a bit boring. And it didn't need 3 different endings.

Ed Norton is a great actor, so I´m pretty curious about this one.
And yes, he shouldn´t be taller than ten feet...otherwise, that whole ripped jeans stuff doesn´t make sense, he´d be naked, right ?

Also, why was Dr.Banner´s name David in the TV series, and not Bruce, as in the comics ?

About Norton´s pecs...he is a good actor and really makes an effort to come across as credible as possible and he really bulked up for American History X, and he said in interviews that he trained with some hardcore dudes. Also said that most of them had inner pains and struggles and that bulking up was their way to cope. His opinion, not mine. Must be weird for actors to bulk up and lose weight again for every other movie. I mean, once you´ve managed to look like that, who would want to look and feel average again ?

Ed Norton has dismissed any connection between The Incredible Hulk and the last Hulk movie.

The 2003 movie starring Eric Bana was panned by critics and Norton was quick to distance his new film from it.

“First off it’s utterly unrelated to that film,” he said, in this month’s Total Film magazine.

“This is in no way a response to it or picking up from it.

"I think like Chris Nolan and those guys did with Batman, we just said: 'We’re going to start completely with our own version of this myth or saga.'

And the Fight Club star revealed that he turned down the part of Bruce Banner and his alter ego before being wooed by the chance to write the screenplay himself.

“When the phone rings and someone says, ‘Hey, would you be interested in the big green guy?” there’s that part of all of us that doesn’t want to look like an idiot,” he admitted.

“There’s the wince factor or the defensive part of you that recoils at what the bad version of what that would be. And I did that, basically. I said ‘no’ to it a couple of times.”

Now firmly on board Norton revealed that The Incredible Hulk is just the beginning."

“To me the whole thing was to envision it in multiple parts,” he said.
