Healthy Snacks!

I have given up bread and replaced snacks that were formerly toast and biscuits with things like Grapes, and Carrots with Humus.

Can you name any other good healthy snacks that take no time to prepare?

Nuts and cheese are whole, natural foods that contain good fats.

Dried fruit is nothing but sugar. You might as well eat the bread you gave up.

If you want fruit, berries (fresh - not dried) are the least carb-intensive and have the highest fiber.

I do, but I always eat cheese with caution. I always thought the fats from dairy aren't necessarily good for you (like the ones in nuts)...

I dunno where you buy your dried fruit, but over here in sexy England there's virtually no sugar, unless you choose to buy the sugar-filled version. confuse

Also sugar does not equal carbohydrates, there's also a massive difference in the quantity consumed. I wouldn't eat dried fruits like I did bread. That would be quite ridiculous.

Cheese contains good fats, but in massive amounts - so not really good for, say, a 9pm snack. lol

I might just stick to grapes.

I tend to snack on fruit or yoghurt. We have mango trees either side of us so we just lean out the window and pick them off the trees or ask the neighbours to knock a couple down for us if we're being polite. I like them quite unripe and very sour. smile There's always fruit around in the house, usually mango, papaya, bananas, melon or pineapple, which is only about 30p for one here. woot!

Life's too short.
Cottage cheese with salsa, and Poore Brothers vinagar chips.
Nachos: tortilla chips with grated cheese, jalepenos, salsa.
Glass of whole milk.
Salami and cream cheese on Triscuits. Great to eat, while reading.....YUM!

OR: a bottle of "Naked" Juice.
Spicey tuna handroll
That's my routine. lol
