But Holofernes didn't really struggle, did he? I thought he was passed out/drunk when Judith beheaded him. (At least that's what I remember from my Narrative Art History class where we had to read the Bible story first then discuss how closely the artists followed the texts...) | |

Yes i believe he was asleep but both painted the scene in the same way - with holofernes awake and struggling i'm just saying that artemisia did a better job, considering.. I also really like this video: It's a photo essay about eating disorders set to Moby's When It's Cold I'd Like To Die.
