As it stands right now I am averaging a hair cut every three months..I cannot stand to spend the money on myself. I would go longer if my hair did not grow so fast.
My Willie got groomed every 6-7 weeks. His hair grew really fast too. I had her trim his as short as possible, even his skirt to keep the dirt out of the house.
It was the ear plucking and the eye brows/beard that really needed the upkeep the most.
One reason I do not want another Schnauzer. I swore I would never own another terrier. confused

See? A BT needs a maximum of 3 grooming sessions a year. Ummm... schnauzers aren't terriers... all terriers are called something something terrier. Schnauzers are schnauzers, that's all. Whoever told you they're terriers didn't know what they were talking about. Actually they're coupled with all the three pinchers in terms of race, meaning the special race clubs that exist. They're also showed in the same category at dog shows and not with terriers. nod

As for food, are you people for real? Of course a small dog doesn't eat much food. In which stomach would it fit more food? confuse

Baby Killers

I don't truss any of em hmph!

I'm sorry to say this but you're dumb in the head. There are reports every damn day of parents killing their children by accident (as if rolleyes ) by leaving them in hot cars, forgetting them in the bathtub or plain starving them locked in a basement for years or just beating them to death and you say DOGS kill children? disbelief

During my lunch break today, I stopped by a local
shelter and saw the cutest mini pin. He
was doing the whole "play with me" crouch and
yelping playfully and trying to get out of
his crate to get to me.

I was like, "Dude, I'd play, if I weren't on my
lunch break and in business clothes." Oh, he
was adorable.

I almost adopted one of those but thought he would be just a bit too delicate for a home with a 2 year old. So cute.

Nevermind.. I don't have time to resize the pic..

Oh.. btw.. We used to own a Brussels Griffon! He was "bristle" or "blonde" and his name was Oscar.

Unfortunately, he died due to heart problems a few years ago. But up to the end he was a great little dog... very sweet.. He went through A LOT just to survive.. I miss him..

Back to topic, I do think people need to be careful with animals around kids. As much as SOME OF US love dogs, the fact is that they are animals and are therefore unpredictable. I'm very careful when children approach my dogs and obviously my dogs are very little. Now.. what I prefer is allowing dogs to approach kids.. to build confidence.. But even then.. I'm very careful as far as allowing children to pet my dogs. I really have to be "in control" of the situation..

Even when my nieces and nephews visit, I'm very watchful.. and if I feel like any of the kids are a little too enthusiastic, I might put the dogs in another room until everyone calms down.

It's a fine line because we pet owners want a dog to be socialized;however, we have to protect the kids from themselves sometimes.. if ya know what I mean.
And also protect the dogs from themselves as well.
