I simply don't have the time for blind dates. If I am gonna take time out to actually go out and do something with someone I'd prefer it be with someone that I have gotten to know at least on some level.

Why do the stakes have to be so high? Don't meet for a "date"...just go for coffee or something.

If people can't be polite and sociable for a half-hour to an hour that's pretty sad. And learning how to extricate yourself from any future obligation - kindly and without hurt feelings - is a good skill to develop.

nod

I've made some friends and some enemies but oh well....the chicken nachos were good lol

See? And you get chicken nachos. Such a deal. lol

Don't do it! shake

I have only ever done it once, and it was horrible....the guy was nice, not even bad looking...but we had simply NOTHING to talk about, nothing in common....nada, zilch, zero, zed....no energy, no karma, no nuttin'....typically I can carry on a conversation with anyone and find joy in it because I love people, but this was such a contrived and planned situation, that it was hard to be natural.

We both basically wasted a few hours of our lives being polite to each other to try to make it through.....don't put yourself in that situation if you do not have to....

cool
