I just know that a lot of these cats believe that these relationships are real. I'm not talking in general terms, I'm talking about people that I KNOW.....2 bad 4 them.

hmmm I find it interesting that when getting on the topic of gold digging that it is automatically assumed that its the woman thats doing it-it goes both ways. If you really want to get to the bottom line sans emotions, sentiment, and love; nothing is for free in life. Everyone wants something in return be it for money, love, or emotional dependency-or at least expect it. And what would be the difference if 'digging' were in terms of love or emotional dependence-this is done too, would it have the same negative connotation? hmmm okay i'm done nuts

btw no its not for me. I can't see depending on someone like that. Eventually it would crash and burn-then where will you be? but I won't knock anybody whose in that type of relationship. Its really their own business.

I worked with a woman, years ago, who befriended an old man that used to come to the mall and sit by himself. She just felt sorry that he was always alone so she would talk to him on the bench in front of our store when she was on her break. This went on for some time and he eventually passed away.

Turns out he was quite wealthy (she had no idea) and he left her a huge amount of money. More to her than his own children since they basically abandoned him. His kids labeled her a "gold digger".

It appears his kids were wrong. And I am very touched by your friend's humanity and character.
