We have a gecko if it counts. There are also quite a few crickets that escaped from the gecko's cage..... hmmm
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Fuck, no.

Owning a domestic animal that's been domesticated for hundreds and hundreds of years is one thing...but owning something that is still basically a wild animal is another.

I do not condone the exotic animal trade at all. It think it's cruel and really I don't see it's purpose at all.

clapping Exactly. In fact, anybody who thinks of owning an animal like a monkey makes me think a lot less of them. confused

My sister is wealthy. She earns extra money that she doesn't even need with her hobby, which is raising macaws, african greys, and all kinds of other exotic birds. She has A LOT of them.

It's different if you breed them to promote legal and domestic trade, it's the illegal poaching/catching of animals including birds that's the problem.

Wow.....they are not endangered or anything. I think anyone that would own any animal and MISTREAT them should be thought less of.....

Wow

What does them not being endangered have to do with anything?

Just owning them is mistreating them. They are wild animals and do not belong in captivity.

Exactly. There's a reason they're called "wild", as Roy Horn found out.

I have 6 peafowl.. lovely birds... A cross between,(in behavior),to a dog and a chicken. They are tagged but roam free and occasionaly I get a call from the local elememtary school (4 house up the street)asking me to come and get them. Because they were raised by my children, they seem to love to go hang out at the school around recess time. I have had to post signs around my house saying they are around so it does not cause car accidents when folks see them perched on top of my roof in the a.m or fooling around in the front yard.. Come mating season it's great fun to find my 3 boys displaying their plumage to any car that pulls up in our driveway. Only hang-up is that they have collected about 10 wild turkeys as their running mates... They rarely stray, unless they see a group of kids under the age of 13.. When I walk my girls to school in the summer they are always right behind us.. I live on 2acres of land and they seem to be very happy... It always freaks people out, in my area, to see an Africian American woman with 6 peafowl on her property LOL
