Parker Posey to star in sitcom Just saw a commercial on Fox for a new sitcom starring Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under). It's called "The Return Of Jezebel James". Didn't look bad, but I wasn't paying much attention, because I was just enjoying seeing Parker on TV. I'm kind of surprise, but I'm kind of not. I hadn't heard anything about it. But on the other hand, there aren't a lot of avenues for yesterday's quirky indie "it" girls. A sitcom makes sense. I hope it's good. It's from the creators of "Gilmore Girls" so it probably will be decent. Love her.
THE RETURN OF JEZEBEL JAMES
Fox; Fridays at 8:30 p.m. Premieres Wednesday, March 12, then moves to its regular day and time on March 14. Indie film queen Parker Posey and Six Feet Under's Lauren Ambrose make an unlikely pair on this traditional sitcom as mismatched sisters who agree to live together after one of them agrees to carry the other's baby. From Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

I've been worrying about this all day, oddly enough. I hope it's good. And good for her. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

I do want to see this show. Did anyone else besides me love Parker in her stint on Will & Grace? MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! This show looks like it could be good. I kind of wish sitcoms would make a comeback. Shake it til ya make it

Oh, I love Lauren Ambrose! Has anybody seen her in Psycho Beach Party ? I always seen her going back to television, but a sitcom? Sorry for being Debbie Downer, but I don't think this will be a hit. Btw, I reccommend the other Charles Busch film Die, Mommie, Die!

I think she should've received some kind of award for that movie. She was amazing when she was going in and out of several characters. It was hilarious. I think I'm actually going to make it a point to see this. I haven't done that with a new show in a long time. It should be easier with DVR. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

Did anyone bother to watch the premier besides me? They played the pilot & a followup episode, so 1 hour.
The pilot was pretty fucking dreadful - Parker put it on SO thick, they did a lot of long steadycam shots (or maybe it was just one that seemed to take forever) where things were just bland & the laugh track was NOT helping. Second episode was better - multicamera setup (which just works better for some comedies), everyone toned it down a bit, the writing seemed more together. I think I'll keep it as a season pass until it irritates me, but I hope it continues to progress. & Diane Wiest is the mom, I like her too...
