Pics look okay. But I'm still nervous as hell about this. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

Yeah, the problem with these flicks is they spend more time on the costumes and the stunts than they do the script.

I've never heard of this comic. Is it fairly recent?

I have absolutely no idea how they're going to pull off the complexity of this in a film, with all the different threads going on in the present and in flashbacks.
Watchmen is the kind of thing that comics were invented for. That kind of storytelling, anyway. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

It's simple, they won't. They aren't even interested in trying.

Rorschach and the Comedian look great, Ozymandias looks very appropriate, and the other two look as expected.... Like others here, I'm very nervous to see if they're going to succeed at pulling this off. This book surprised me greatly, and though I think there's a very small chance the movie will be able to pull it off, I'm still excited to see them try. It's about 15-20 years old. One the best comics ever written. Many people consider it THE best superhero comic ever. Not much pressure at all in making this film.

I'm no comic expert, but it's far and away the best one I've read. The thing that makes it easier (or harder) for the director was that the illustrations were so great too. The storyboards are done already! My Legacy

I'm both nervous and excited about this one. Watchmen is one of the best comic series ever written, and as somebody else pointed out, it's so complex that it will be almost impossible to fit it all into a movie. Still, the details in the pictures look like they've gotten a lot of things right, so I'm willing to give it a chance and see it with an open mind.
I wonder if Dr. Manhattan will walk around nude the entire time? Somehow I doubt it. And I wonder if they'll go to the trouble to make Rorschach's mask change constantly. That's another cool detail that I hope they get right.

The storyboards are done already! I know! I was thinking this when reading it, that every storyboard is perfectly expressive. You almost visually put in the camera effects between panels reading this. But there's so much depth in the comic, that's what scares me about the movie version of it "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. i have high hopes for the movie and i think the character photos look great. i think ozymandias looks a little goofy, but he's kind of a goofy character in a tragically epic kinda way. everything i've seen regarding the production of this movie leads me to believe that they're taking great care to make sure the end result is top notch, and i'm just hoping that's the case.

I can't keep track, has Alan Moore disowned this one yet? He usually does well before they're released. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

Here's what he told Entertainment Weekly in 2006: AlanMoore said: David Hayter's screenplay was as close as I could imagine anyone getting to Watchmen. That said, I shan't be going to see it. My book is a comic book. Not a movie, not a novel. A comic book. It's been made in a certain way, and designed to be read a certain way: in an armchair, nice and cozy next to a fire, with a steaming cup of coffee. Personally, I think that would make for a lovely Saturday night.

Dave is being used as an advisor so at least half the creative team is on board.
