I see the health benefits in going raw or vegan, the increase in energy, good skin and weightloss but doesn´t it make you lose a lot of muscle mass ?

there are different theories out there about nutrition type, blood type, etc, that say some people should eat meat - need it in fact. other types demand a more vegetarian diet for maximum health.

dr. mercola's website has quite a bit about this.

I hate to be contrary, but it's what I do best. heart I work for a blood bank and have done considerable reading in the 'members only' parts of the U.S. Red Cross and American Association of Blood Banks websites. According to them and their decades of research, blood-type diets are garbage. Instead, each individual digests and processes nutrients differently. Doesn't that seem to make more sense? My 6-ft tall thin Amazon best friend and I eat the same, yet I constantly struggle with weight. But if she eats spicy foods, she's screwed for days. I could painlessly digest a small vehicle if you chop it up small enough.

For me to avoid strawberries because I'm O+ is hilarious. lol Or whatever the current "no-no" foods are for my blood type.
Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Imago, those recipes sound really good and healthy! could you maybe post a couple that don't require a food processor though? heart

Actually, these are essential for going RAW/Vegan:

1) Blender
2) Food Processor
3) Dehydrator

(in that order)

You can find a food processor for 20 bucks at Walmart that does what you need.
Sorry, but they are essential.

Much like an oven, stove top, and pots and pans are essential for a cooked diet.

Sounds easy but we do not have Wal-Mart or Target here. I had to give away all of my electrical appliances because they would not work here. So I am starting all over again. We have the important English ones like a toaster and kettle.

Since it is just me tonight I made a gorgeous salad. Made up of baby mixed greens, white cabbage, red peppers, green olives, fresh pineapple, cucumber, humus (not sure if that is considered raw, probably not) a mixtures of yummie seeds and walnuts with fresh lemon and apple cider vinegar drizzled on top.

All I can do is testify to the results.

My parents have eaten organic, healthy food for years, but still had many health problems that didn't go away until they started the blood type diet. My dad is down to his high school weight (although he eats enormous quantities of food) and I can't remember the last time I saw my mom so thin... (she still has some weight to lose, but not much).

right; he's just basically a blog to keep up with the changes.

i do a lot of things he wouldn't approve of, like drink wine and eat grains... after all, haven't these things been around pretty much since the dawning of humanity?

exactly ..those are 2 things I could not give up. I have given up bread lately and I can do that but I still need my grains. When it comes to wine...oh no..can't give that up. It is the only alcohol that I really enjoy.

i think diversity is key... if we don't always eat the same foods all the time, we shouldn't have any problem.

Maybe I should look into it. I cannot shake this fatigue I am feeling right now but I think some of it is due to my allergies/sinuses at the moment.

In your case, I wonder if it isn't about getting used to a new country... I had mad allergies and was sick all the time when I first came to France. Took me a while to get immune to the microbes floating around here I guess.

I think you are right. My allergies/sinuses have been going crazy the past couple months. I thought it was due to the remodeling that we did in the house but I think it is a combination. It has been extremely windy the past few days. Back home I would suffer on the rare occasion that we had a windy day. I was just getting my allergies sorted back home, I fear I will be starting all over again here. My future sis in law knows a good homeopath. I think I will seek her advice when we get back from traveling.
I just want my sinuses sorted before we go on our 11 hour flight though. I hate to fly when my sinuses are going crazy.
I know it is the environmental and food changes that my body is experiencing right now.
I am just getting tired of being tired.

you're not the only one... it's very windy here right now, and there's all kinds of junk in the air (who knows what - pollen is only part of it)... i'm getting over a sinus infection. have always had fragile sinuses; story of my life. at least i'm not getting migraines like i used to. but i've been sick almost this entire winter with one thing or another and could hardly even sing this weekend. thankfully we do a lot of instrumentals.

what stinks about flying these days (at least to the States) is the anti-liquid policy. essential oils used to be so handy on the long hauls... to clear the air a bit and peppermint good for headaches & nausea.
