I heard about this and I refuse to watch the video. I don't understand how somone can do this. It IS important that we all know that stuff like this goes on.

I find it interesting that with all the human rights violations perpetrated by U.S. army officials worldwide, the one that garners attention is one that's done to an animal. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Sorry Tom I won't watch the video.
But I will say.. Im sick of American soldiers acting this way. (I'm former military so I feel I should have an opinion). It's one thing to carry out the orders of a twisted, selfish, barbaric commander in chief believing that you're protecting your country--it's quite another to conduct oneself in this manner like some type of animal. I guess it really doesn't matter if it was a marine that did this or a regular person, either way it's disgusting.
Initially I watched it assuming it was going to be some kind of hoax like the grandma kicking the baby or the numerous videos of people getting hit by busses, but unfortunately, it was real | |

I guess what I'm moreso getting at is the fact that there is this big of an uproar over footage of a puppy being killed (and don't get me wrong, I'm appalled over it, too), whereas so many other far worse atrocities are occurring around the world and receiving little to no attention, comparatively.
It's a problem with the media's (lack of) coverage of really important facts. [Edited 3/4/08 17:11pm] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

 I was co-located with them on a base this last deployment in Iraq...nutty as peanut brittle....and there are some who are on testosterone overload...I couldn't stand being around them for long...He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
