Eddie Murphy's "golden child" should be awful and a blip during his paramount studios ahem, golding era, but the ludicrous story, the hot leading girl (Charlotte lewis?), the good and typically british villian Charles dance, and of course, Eddie, make the movie work. Props in particular to Eddie, being enthusiastic and very funny in a movie as silly as this and still makes this movie worth watching is worth commending. This movie is not the cult embarrassment it really oughta be and woulda been with someone less funny.

Eddie elevates a crappy movie, into a good one. The blaring and intrusive 80's score is something I gotta love aswell

I love the short scene where Eddie tries to seduce Charlotte outside his house:-

Eddie: "You know Iam the chosing one" (cue funny face pulling by Eddie).

One of my mates loves it, my dad loves it (and he hates most of Murphys work), another mate thinks its pure shite, and critics seem to think so to?


Certainly stands out in his catalogue of films. Should do a silly ass film like this again.

I still watch it. OK...I liked it!!! That little boy was just the cutest thing. I wanted to pinch his little cheeks.

Its good clean fun,,hubby loves this movie as well as "Big trouble in little china"
