I didn't know Apple's Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer four years ago and successfully treated. eek Maybe Patrick will be as blessed/lucky as him.

Here's the story that was on Good Morning America about him and pancreatic cancer:

Here's video of Whoopi on the View talking about how she owes her Oscar to Patrick

I just wanted to show the picture is bleak, but not THAT bleak.

I am glad he's got a fair chance of winning this still. That's the Swayze we know.

nod Let's keep positive. pray

I really have a lot of respect for him...he's a true talent and seems to be such a sweet man. Also, he was fabulous in one of my favorite movies of all time:

"To Wong Foo: Thanks for everything, Julie Newmar"

I love this movie! People think I am nuts for doing so! lol

It depends on what stage they catch it. Once it starts spreading 2 other organs.....it's 2 late.

Patrick Swayze is/was a very heavy smoker. I pray that he survives, and I hope he quits smoking.

You do not have to be a smoker to get cancer.

No, you don't. But if you smoke, you're way more likely to get it, and far more likely to be unable to beat it.

Some cancers are easier to treat than others, and other cancers, while life-threatening, can be diagnosed and dealt with sooner than others. For example, skin cancer is probably the easiest to detect and treat quickly and have a full recovery from. Lymphoma and leukemia, while potentially lethal, can be treated if caught early enough, and one can still make a full recovery. The problem with cancer of the major internal organs, like the lungs, liver, pancreas and kidneys, is that it tends to be diagnosed late and usually has metastasized to other parts of the body, making it a certain death sentence. Even if it diagnosed prior to spreading to other parts of the body, it tends to be very aggressive and resistant to treatment, and the only way to eliminate it is by transplanting another organ in its place. The problem with that is finding an available replacement organ, and sometimes by the time they find a transplant organ, the cancer has already spread to other parts of the body.

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Dirty Dancing is my movie, everytime it's on tv I have to watch it, especially because of him. I hope and pray Patrick makes a full recovery.

Yeah he should have song more songs cause SHe'like the wind is one of my top 50 of all time songs I ever heard. Hopefully he can pull out but if you have cancer in the pancreas, it is basically a death sentence!!
