I can't take it anymore.

Another 40cm today. And I am stuck at work.

The snowdrifts on either side of my driveway are taller than me and under all the snow is a thick layer of ice. I almost got killed as my car slid backwards down my driveway onto oncoming traffic last night. And we've got hours and hours of freezing rain mixed in with all that snow again today.

I'm pretty sure I will not make it through this winter.

Erin, obviously those are bad conditions and I hate to hear that u have to drive in those conditions and that u were almost in an aciident. Thank GOD that u were not in an accident and I'm praying that u WON'T get in an accident. That u will get to where you're going and then get home safely. Please don't SPEAK "I'm pretty sure I will not make it through this winter." Or type it or anything. Don't declare that over your life.

Wow....I hate that u had to remove all of that by yourself. Because that would be alot for two people, let alone just one person.

Dude, I was just talking to a co-worker who has a family member that works for Environment Canada and he mentioned that the final number on the predicted accumulation has not been finalized yet...but they are thinking 80cm when all is said and done. Basically it is going to storm this evening straight through to Sunday morning.

I am at a point where I simply do not know how to clear out my driveway. There is just no where to put it. I absolutely can not throw that snow any higher to go over the snow drifts. I am not even joking. I have no idea what to do.

I seriously almost cried the other night when I was shoveling.

Kill me now.

This can't be good.. I am flying there on Sunday afternoon for work and I am guessing it is going to be an eventful travel day for me. The last time I was there it was freezing cold.. Now snow, cold and lots of delays...

The one good thing about this (as if ANYTHING could be good) is that we are really good at getting back to normal once the storm has passed. By Sunday all the roads should be clear and I am sure flights will be totally back on track.

Although, I am sure many of us will still be trying to dig out of our homes on Sunday.

But we are getting more snow next week. On Tuesday and Wednesday. neutral

Thanks. smile

We'll all be safe. I was thinking today that we are so used to this kinda thing (well, maybe not quite this bad) that we don't lose power or anything. I am so thankful for that. I remember when we had the ice storm in 1998 I was without power for 8 days. That SUCKED!

The only real risks in this kind of weather are car accidents and heart attacks from shoveling (which happens A LOT).

sigh

The snow has started.

You are right.. They do an amazing job of cleaning up. In Atlanta, the threat of Snow will shut us down as the city does not even own one Snow Plough. It is a pretty cool city, I am sure it is lot of fun in summer.

This path that I dug out is full again because the side of the snowbank collapsed. bawl

I'm just stuck and no snow removal guys are available as they say that they are booked solid. I dunno what to do.
