I still play Atari to this day... well not the actual Atari, but the games. Playstation makes all of the arcade/atari classic games. If you own the Pitfall 3-d game there's a code to where you can turn it into the old school one. My all time favorite use to be Astroids, but Galaga is now.

Galaga ROCKS!!!

I remember trying to figure out how to play ET...it made no sense...I just remember having to pick up pixelized blocks of something...
Yeah no kidding! E.T. was incomprehensible! You'd push the fire button, and his lock neck would extend, FOR NO REASON!

Actually...when you pressed the fire button, thus making his neck extend, and pressed 'up' on the joystick, it made him levitate. It was how he got out of all those damned holes evil

That game was too weird to be believed (it only took about 3 months to make), but I remember solving it.

Speaking of weird games, Raiders of the Lost Ark, anyone?

I have a pretty funny story concerning the old video game systems.

I still have Intellivision, and my roommate has Atari. I also own PS2 and he bought XBox last year. We had a party last summer at our apartment and hooked up all the video games up and figured people would be wanting XBox the most so hooked that up to the big-screen and the others we hooked up on the smaller TV's around our place. Anyway by that night people were FIGHTING to play Atari and Intellivision. I mean seriously fighting. I hooked up Intellivision on the big screen, and people were playing the old baseball game until the sun came up. We both were amazed the reaction these games caused...and I admit I like the old games a bit better too.

I don't know about 'bad'...overambitious, maybe. The Atari really could not handle a game that complex. It was actually pretty ahead of it's time.

The reason for that is simple. Back in the day, games were designed to be fun. Nowadays it's all about graphics and gimmicks. There are SOME exceptions, but over all it's style over substance. It's quite sad, really sad
