It's akin to someone here (or in Canada for that matter) being named Rosendo or Elicio...unique names, but definitely would get the kid picked on.

Kids here don't tend to get picked on too much for having "ethnic" names, unless it sounds like something dirty or unpleasant in English.

Kids here don't tend to get picked on too much for having "ethnic" names, unless it sounds like something dirty or unpleasant in English.

Kids definitely do not get picked on for having ethnic names as much here. Most schools are a big mix of different races, cultures, etc. It's just normal here to have names from all over the world.
