No, but I would want my son to be a Boaz.. he had great character .. alot of integrity.. that's probaby why your friend's husband likes the name... In fact, Boaz biblically represents Christ in His redeeming power. Whoooo... Interesting and touching choice, in this day and age.

I still think the name is unfortunate and definitely not touching, even if his character is touching. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

the names are ok, the damn last name is Martínez I heard similar things when my wife and I named our kid Timothy. My wife's friends would tell my wife that my kid would be made fun of because of our last name Chavez. We live close to Mexico - 20 miles - and he hasn't had any problems. I have seen some of the names of people entering from Mexico. Dylan Zeth is not the craziest I've seen.

Alright, so Boaz has integrity and christ redeeming representation. I still think the name is unfortunate and definitely not touching, even if his character is touching. i wasn't familiar with the biblical connection to the name Boaz, but after reading the posts about it i think Boaz is a fine name. it's unique but in a thoughtful and meaningful way, not in an 'obvious-desperate-attempt-at-being-unique' and superficial way like are many of the bizarre names with which some parents saddle their offspring. as for the name Boaz being unfortunate, kids are brilliantly creative in the most nasty ways possible with even the most common of name; having a more conventional name doesn't preclude one from being tormented in the schoolyard with twisted variations on it (i this i know firsthand! ) i'd imagine a Boaz in today's world - especially a child - would mostly be called "Bo" anyway.

I'm surprised that someone so young would consider someone in their family to be a "retard" or "stupid ass bitch" or whatever because they, first "fucked it up" by having a child out of wedlock and second because they named their child a name that is not considered socially popular where they live.
Someone so young and someone who (I believe) is gay being so narrow minded about such things just surprises me. Anyway, I think the name is cute.
