Chanhassen, MN

How many people on the org actually live in Chanhassen?

I've never been to Chanhassen, what is it like? I know it is a suburb of Minneapolis, is there an amazing night life there?

Is it an ethnic mixture of people? Is it expensive to live in Chanhassen?

Geez, that's all the questions I can think of for now, but if I have anymore, I will post them.

Chanhassen is nothing special. It's just another over-crowded suburb overflowing with stripmalls and chain restaurants.

When Prince built Paisley Park Chanhassen was just cornfields, but now it's just another suburb that has succumbed to urban sprawl. I don't actually have a problem with the "burbs" (as I live in a suburb in St. Paul) but you will be very dissapointed is you expect Chanhassen to be a real city.

To answer some of the questions:

There is absolutely no nightlife in Chanhassen, but of course there is in Minneapolis.

Prince and Larry Graham are probably the only people of color living in Chanhassen.

It takes longer to say Chanhassen than to drive through it.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

My sister, mom, and I went up to Chanhassen this summer, and I personally think it is a quite, but very beautiful town. To me it seemed expensive living style. There are some people of color, but not many. One of Prince's employees is actually I thought very similar to Prince. The neighbors there were very friendly, but sophisticated people, so if you aren't into that you may not like it. The men at Applebee's are great fun, and nice guys. They can definitely make you laugh. Chanhassen may be small, but it is also, a wonderful place to live I would think. Minnesota in general has much more to offer than Iowa. Oh and Lake Calhoun is absolutely stunning. I've never seen such a beautiful area with people having so much enthusiasm. Minnesota is definitely worth a visit, or two.

I like Downtown Minneapolis much better because Cahnhassen is a Very Quiet place and being from N.Y. I'm used to Partying. I would be the only one out at 2 am looking for a Diner or someplace to listen to music. I like it there and all,but definitely where there is more Action and Nightlife. Plus it's much slower than N.Y. which can Perturb you if you are Used to a Faster Pace. And they look at you Funny and Strange if you wear Funky Clothing. I Definitely Didn't Blend in with My Hot-Pants,Wigs and Basketball Socks with Heels. The Truckers used to Drive those Trucks up and Down like Crazy when I was walking around at the Celebration. Seriously,I think Downtown is better if you are a Night-Owl,but Chanhassen is a nice Suburb for sure. They just Aren't used to Seeing Wild Girls from N.Y. like Me!
