of $7024 when I was supposed to get $604?

WELL - my bank returned the money. That was all taken care of.

Except I still haven't gotten my real refund. I was supposed to get it either 2/22 or 2/29. I check my bank today, no new deposit. So I check the IRS website to see what's going on.

Yeah, the IRS says, they deposited my refund of $7024 on 2/22 and have a nice day.





So I called my bank back to find out what the heck to do and they said it's all between me and the IRS now.

Oh lord, all that and we forgot to cover that topic. although you will be greatly annoyed by the hold time, you'll find the IRS is very quick to fix stuff. Just call them while you are busy at work tomorrow.

Did you ever notice?
When you put the 2 words "The" and "IRS" together it spells: "THEIRS."

Next to being shot at and missed, nothing is quite as satisfying as an income tax refund.

That's typical. I do my own taxes, and I've been audited twice. Each time, I proved that it was THEIR mistake and not my own.

I just spoke to them, they admitted it was their error and they are mailing me my correct refund on 3/14. They won't direct deposit it again. All things considered it could be worse. I'm still annoyed, though.
