First song you've ever bought?

I just found this clip on the internet:

This was the first song I bought in my life. I was 6 years old (1979). It was a
vinyl single that I bought with my sister. My mom taught me how to do the twist
on this song... eek

Tell me your story.

Racey - Lay Your Love On Me (1979)

The first one I got hold of was 'Respectable' by Mel & Kim. dancing jig giggle You had to collect 7 wrappers of Nestle Dairy Crunch and could choose any 7" single in the Top 40.

The first one I went out and bought was 'Need You Tonight' by INXS. music

It was "Arms of Orion" by Prince. I bought it becuase there was song on the back called "Fell U Up" which I had never heard of. It was the single that introduced me to the concept of a b-side. After that I quickly found an independent record store that sold bootlegs, old singles, etc. etc. and amassed a decent collection of Prince music.

My first ALBUM, was a few years previous to this: PARADE - Prince again.

Shame my fascination with the little fella all but died in towards the late 90's and new millennium. shrug

I had several albums by this time (I was never much for singles), but the first single I ever bought was a big 12 inch maxi single for Walk Like an Egyptian.

The first item of music I bought (that wasn't something like Sesame Street Fever) was not a single, but an album. It was 1977, I was 5 and the album was...

Somehow I don't think my parents were really paying attention. lol

My uncle came by one weekend and scared the living daylights out of me. He told me KISS stood for "Knights in Satan's Service" and that the music was "demonized." My cousins, who were even younger than I was, kept ensuring me they wouldn't let the devil get me, but I didn't sleep for about a week... and I think I threw the album away. confused

Further proof that Lamma and I are brothers in some weird mix-up of the time-space continuum.

In a Kmart in suburban Maryland, my first album purchase at 7 years of age was:
