Last night's LOST...

That was good episode, it had the intensity of first season, the strong emotional intensity. I liked it.

Some good moments, yeah. Though it had a sci-fi feel to it in a way it never really did before.

And does this time thing have any relationship to either the flashbacks or the flashforwards?

Hmmm...

I thought that it was the best episode of the year and goes down as one of the great episodes of Lost.

Of note...

No Previously on
No "Whoosh" for the flashbacks, because they really weren't.
Minkowski
The fact that this episode barely had any of the regulars on it
Daniel Faraday has now climbed up past Charlotte as being my favorite new character
The crazy Rat Maze
A book fromt he Black Rock which was owned by the Hanso Co and then bought by Widmore...wha? My brain imploded like the hatch!
Um the whole scene with Minkowski and his going wonky and them having to inject him with something...does this not have a hint of Rouseau, The Sickness etc?
And finally the phone call to Panny on Xmas Eve... guess I was wrong on the dates. that or I have misinterpreted the time passed. Am I on the island?

OK I hanve a tiny theory. There are powers that be...Rich and Powerful Powers that be that are playing some sort of high stakes chess game in regards to the island. Widmore, Paik, Hanso, Abbadon(guy who sent Naomi), Oceanic. It's all about the island and our fellow losties are simply caught in the madness.

Next week Orchid Station.

Oh and I just wanted to point out that in last weeks episode the book Sawyr is reading is about a machine that can recreate reality while at the same time Xanadu is playing which is about a place where dreams come true.

So put that in your rice cooker!

Desmond is trying to find out Pennys Address as her number is disconnected and I think he seeks out Penny's Dad (fuzzy on how he gets to the auction). There is an Auction for a book of one of the crew memebers from the Black ROck, which is the slave ship that is in the middle of the Jungle that the Losties found dynamite in. The Black Rock was owned by a descendant of Alvar Hanso, the founder of the Dharma Initiative. So the book is tied to the Island somehow and Charles Widmore is trying to buy it. The only tie He has to the Island (that we know of)is that his Daughter was dating Desmond, who ends up crashing on the Island I thik during a boat race that Charles is hosting. ALso Penny is trying to contact Desmond on the Island.

Ya, those info pop ups on the repeat shows really help you notice all the little things you otherwise would never notice.

Thanks! I hadn't had the time to go back to TIVO and look at the sequence again.

Yes, they are great. Kinda like that old Pop Up Video show. I only caught a bit of one last night and now I almost want to just watch the repeats so I don't miss anything.

Poeple were SCOURING the net to figure out what Sawyer was reading. I like the pop-ups too. My only beef with them really is they mention things that make you go Wha? LIke the woman in the background of Faradays flash was his Caretaker? The boards were all about wife this and that. So these pop ups are bringing to light really unusual things that no one would even guess.

Our ritual is every week we watch the last episode and then the current. We always catch something new...yet another thing I love about the show is the re-watchability. We do this with Heroes and it's simply not the same. ANyway. we have been abandoning watching the DVR version and have been catching the pop up versions instead.

Heroes is definitely more simple and cartoonish (with reason I guess). I'm just now starting to watch 1st season of heroes.
