Whoopi Goldberg Accepts Oscar Apology Whoopi Goldberg Accepts Oscar Apology
NEW YORK — Whoopi Goldberg has accepted an apology from producer Gil Cates for not including her in a montage featuring Oscar hosts during Sunday's Academy Awards telecast. Cates called her Tuesday and "talked about the fact that he had made an oversight, pure and simple. He said, `You know I love you,'" Goldberg said Wednesday on ABC daytime talk show "The View." Goldberg, who called Cates a "great gentleman," accepted his apology. She said she has "moved on" since choking up on Monday's show when her fellow co-hosts discussed how she was left out of the clip. The 52-year-old actress-comedian hosted the Oscars in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002. ___

Good to hear she received an apology ![]() Considering she did 4 different shows how was she over looked? This was NOT an accident. Yeah ... overlooked mmm hhmmm She is one of only ten individuals who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award, counting Daytime Emmy Awards. She is the second African American female performer to win an Academy Award for acting (the first being Hattie McDaniel). She has won two Golden Globe Awards and two Saturn Awards for her performances in Star Trek Generations and Ghost.

The producer also said, "Steve Martin wasn't in the montage, either. Not just Whoopi."
Good to hear. pfft. I love Whoopi and that was cool what Barbara said on Extra about the whole situation.

Whoopie is a classy lady. She has a natural dignity about her that I like a lot. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss

I think they said Steve Martin. But from a historical standpoint Whoopi was unique for various reasons so why not include her? ![]()
