Just wondering...

When you sign up for a forum like the org.
What is it that makes people want to use names like:

"littlepurplejaguar"
or "redcoconut"
or "gypsyguy"
or "smokeyandthebandid"
or "likeaveilicanhidebehind" and what not...

Isn't that just a little strange?
As I said: My name is Jochem. Just like my first name.
It seems I'm one of the few orgers that use their given name as a username.

Why is that?

There was a thread recently about orgers and their alter ego's as in people
that have two accounts. But, isn't using another name than your own name also
like using an alter ego?

i would love to use my forename but it would upset justErin, so i basically turned the lights off and typed in 8 letters and the result was my nick.

I even went as far as NOT to use my real name. I used an AKA. But after a few years this place became a sort of hide away and I started meeting people. So I stopped using the AKA and kinda prefer people to call me by my real name instead of "Gooey".

Except Carrie of course. I can handle it when she calls me Goo in real life.

I couldn't think of anything that wasn't catchy or cute as far as a "Prince" name went, so I thought about other things I liked. I love chocolate, and I'm a brown-skinned Sista, so I decided to go with that, since I am a "chocolate one".

In other places, I've been known as "pwrfantastik", "metzfan", and "marodrvr".
But here, just call me "Chocolate1'.

I sign as "Lynn" or -L- sometimes, tho.

I can't remember anymore but I think I chose CJanssen because I probably didn't know it would become my account name, I must have signed in thinking it was my login name or so

Else I would have named myself Bambi, have that as an email address for years.
And later I wanted to change it but then you have to delete your account, don't want that. Ah well, CJ is fine with me.
