So I filed my taxes last week and elected to have my refund directly deposited in my checking account (as I always do...). I was just checking my balance and such online and instead of deposting the $600 or so I was supposed to get back they've deposited 7,024 dollars!!!


oh, this is going to be a hassle to correct. I'm calling my bank first thing tomorrow to try to figure out what happened.

Call the tax man. Maybe you got a biggie refund than you anticipated.

Otherwise don't question it

They don't just hand out bigger refunds. When you file you know exactly what you're supposed to pay or get back. This is definitely an error on someone's part.

I wish my poor, sick Grandmother could get a refund like that. Would help pay for her life-saving operation....

I wish I could say that you can let this go and keep the dough, but you know they'll find out and want that money back.
