How well do you eat?

Are you a lable reader?

What foods do you stay away from?

Which ones can you NOT stay away from?

I am a label reader to an extent and while I am not a vegetarian; I do stay away from Pork and Red Meat as a steady diet. I will eat a burger and some ham or bacon from time to time but red meat and pork is not a fixed part of my diet. I have my junk foods but I balance it out with clean eating and exercise....

And U?

I read labels, I look at calories and fat content, I enjoy a mostly veggie diet. I make sure I get fresh veggies and fruits fairly regularly.
I'm currently not eating as well as I could, but I'm not doing too poorly either.

I am a major label reader. nod
I want to know what I am putting into my body.
I try to eat healthy as much as possible. I rarely have fast food. I do have a sweet tooth which is my down fall but I am trying to substitute adding sugar with honey. I love cooking with spices and I am not a huge meat eater, most nights I could go without it.
I am trying to be more careful lately as I would like to drop a few pounds. I try to balance out the fats, carbs and proteins. I love to snack on whole grain snacks & nuts.
I look to make sure that I get more good fats than bad fats but I am not so good at counting calories.

I read labels when I shop for groceries.... whole grains, organic, farm raised fish, to be environmentally conscience.

I try to stay away from processed foods as much as possible. And in the summer I tend to eat a lot of omega3 rich foods.(can get expensive)

I'm a sucker for sweets... and I eat too much bread.

I can not live without dark chocolate and espresso coffee....

Still learning to cook the healthiest foods possible without breaking the bank.

Seems like whole foods have sky rocketed in prices in my area due to the demand.

Raw sugars and sea salt and fresh herbs are getting so pricey.

All of this goes right out the window when I dine out...

I eat what I want in a restaurant.

I'm a label reader. I don't really eat red meat, although I have a burger 2 or 3 times a year. I don't eat pork. I do eat poultry and when I do, it is usually chicken breast. I do not eat fast food.It usually makes me ill so I just don't eat it anymore. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and I only eat whole wheat breads.... no white bread! no no no! The only real problem that I have is that I love chocolate chip cookies. I let myself have them every once in a while, but I try to keep them out of the house lol

I eat very well. No high fructose corn syrup...no hydrogenated fats...little to no artificial sweetener...no soy of any kind. (Well, except soy sauce. But always a naturally fermented version of that, which is better.)

I do almost all my own cooking. I regularly make beef and chicken stock and freeze it. I make my own salad dressings.

Occasionally, I'll eat something junky. But I nearly always regret it.

I am not a full vegetarian, but I try to be most of the times. Apart from that I don't care that much what I eat. If I'd gain weight I would though.

since the new year i've been eating very well (will exceptions on the weekends...)
but it was never hard for me like it was all those other 100000 times i've tried... i think now i was ready for it
i'm a label reader too when it comes to calories
and i've been doing really well with that
i'm on my way to my goal - so things are looking good.

My general rule of thumb is if it has a label, I do not eat it.

I try to by fresh vegetables when possible....I will eat the occasional bowl of Amy's organic soup. but most canned food is full of sodium and additives that do not make me feel very well.

I am not a full vetgetarian, and I do eat meat upon occasion.

Because I was a dancer for so many years and had to stay attuned to my physical self, my body awareness is fairly high, and I can feel it physically when I do not eat properly.

For the past two months I have cut down on the sugar big time! I eat red meat, chicken, fish, shrimp, fruits and veggies. If Im going to have bread, crackers they must be whole grain. I thought I could never go without rice, pasta, cheesecake, cookies, chips, all that great tasting junk food but I have even amazed myself that I have been able to go without these biggrin

Another of my rules of thumb is no white food: no white bread, no white rice, no white pasta.

I eat whole wheat bread, brown rice and spinach or whole wheat pasta.

In general, the other food I eat is good food, no whites either I buy the good stuff....it's just the cookies that do me in. Even though I have all the good healthy options in my home I could just eat cookies for breakfast and dinner and be done for the day. And trying to resist buying them in the first place is really hard for me.

sigh

i'd be a vegetarian full-time if i wasn't so damn lazy. lol as it is i try to do it every other day or so. i can't really think of any foods i can't stay away from, though it'd be really annoying trying to avoid rice/bread/etc. hmmm

Substitute your white rice with brown rice instead. I also eat quinoa, barley, bulgur wheat and cous cous as well and I never notice the absence of white rice in my diet. I just throw any of those grains in the rice cooker and substitute as needed. For pastas I only eat whole wheat, or spelt (the latter is even yummier and closer in taste to white pasta), and I just try to keep the servings at moderate amounts. It keeps me in a size 3 nod...

nod Carrie & Mach : Wise minds think alike. Your culinary approach is in concert with mine. I say keep it nature, Organic, treat yourself every now and then. Do everything in moderation and keep your body in balance in harmony.

I can actually have brown rice if I wanted to but I would rather not, if I start eating something I like a lot I end up eating too much of it, so it's better if I just dont lol

I went home and cried after a party once, for not allowing myself to enjoy the fabulous food that was there when I had put myself on a fairly strict diet. lol

I am a type I Diabetic.

I am a label reader. I usually look at Calories, fat(the bad AND the good fats), carboydrates, and protein. Whenever I eat, I always try to have a balance of carbs, proteins, and fats. I stay away from sugar. Everynow and then I pig out on junk food, but as long as it does not become a habit then it will do me no harm. For meat I will usually eat turkey, chicken and/or fish. Vegetables, I will eat just about any of them. Variety is key.

I'm a good eater as I'm trying to keep my weight down.

I do read labels. I check the calories, fat, fibre and sodium.

I stay completely away from places like KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, processed lunch meats and most frozen dinners.

I can't stay away from BBQ Fritos or any flavour of Doritos and I love a medium rare steak!

Wow. Fortunantly I don't have to put myself on that kind of limitations. The only thing I shy away from foods w/MSG & persevatives.
