I'll let u know how it all turns out .....
but I had bald patches after the first session mr.green ...I had my third one a couple of days ago ...(oh and they do the 6th session free of charge and a free spray tan woot! )

How did you go about choosing where to go? Did you get a referral from someone you know or did you research online?

I've thought about it for myself but I'd have to find a place that specifically does dark hair/darker skin which is a challenge, but I know some are doing it (just doesn't work as well)...

.

No u have that back the front....it works the best on dark hair..the laser is attracted to dark pigment.....it doesn't work as well on blondes woot! ...bout time having dark hair was a bonus lol

I rung around a few years ago ..but they were all very expensive then...so never went further.
This time a few of the girls at work referred me mr.green

Looking into it, it may not work for me... From what I'm reading it seems to work best on light-skin with dark hair. Dark skin/dark hair and light skin/blond, grey or red hair doesn't work well, or may not work after the first treatment or so.
confused

I was born a redhead, but I don't really know what color the hair on my head is anymore. redface lol
My body hair is actually reddish blond (and the hair on my upper thighs is so light blond I've never even shaved them, you simply can't see it) and I'm pale as all getout. One of the places I was looking at does packages that will do start to finish, so if they can't finish with laser due to your hair/skin color they will begin electrolosis... I may look into a consultation with them.

Ehh, it may work on me. It's generally not so great on people of color but since my hair is a lot darker than my skin maybe it'll still work on me shrug I'll check it out... The one you go to - is it a chain or an individual establishment? OrgNote if you don't wanna say here, I'm being all nosey falloff Thanks for any info! biggrin

That may be a good idea ....or at least go and chat to someone and see what they think smile
On the plus side it sounds like u have very fine hair that isn't to noticable pout lol

I have my legs professionally waxed, and wax bikini, and arm pits myself.
Self waxing is easy. I use "Zip" wax. I keep it in a small glass bowl, and microwave it. It's ready to use when thick but still runs. Use strips of old sheets or denim. Pull against the direction the hair is growing.
If the wax doesn't come off, I reapply more wax over the area, place cloth, then pull. If the wax is too cool, that happens.
I use a mirror, for bikini areas.
One woman I know, waxes the rectal area. She kayaks, and says it's better for her. eek

Oh no! it hurts that much? I wanted to do this neutral

It does ...but they turn it to a level that each person can tolerate (apparently I have a high pain threshold neutral )
And each zap is only a split second.....arm pits and bikini takes about 10 minutes mr.green

Great!!! I hate pain neutral how is the skin after a treatment? irritated?

Walgreens used to carry it, but stopped. I order it on-line.
The longer you wax, the more thinned out your hair becomes.
I wax every 2 months for my legs at a salon, and every 2-3 weeks for bikini and arm pits.

Zip is on line. The cost depends on the size of package you buy. It comes in 7 oz packages. The price is anywhere between $14.00 to $16.00.

Well I looked online.. I am in the UK now so I will have to order it over the internet.
Thanks for the info. It is worth a try but I have really sensitive skin.
