was it more money, location, family, better conditions- or were u pushed? what keeps u where u r now? seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

I was fired from my last job, I deserved it.
Money is the only thing that keeps me at my current occupation.

Ex-Moderator | I've worked for 12 different places in my life starting at age 16, doing things as various as dishwasher, convenience store clerk, sales associate at Urban Outfitters, managing a movie theatre and now a barista. For my main job, I've worked for the same company for 11 and a half years and held 8 different positions since I've been here. I stay because it's easy to. I like the people I work with, I get almost 5 weeks of vacation a year, I can always find a new position when I'm bored of the current one and the pay is OK. It's not what I envisioned doing for my life, but I didn't really have a plan to begin with, so I've ended up alright. |

ive had 2 main jobs in 21 yrs- and both r about 20 metres away from each other- so location wasnt a factor in leaving the 1st one
13 yrs in my 1st job- and i stayed there as it was kind of like a security blanket- better the devil u know and all that. it was in a major dept store- and i did just about every job except the cleaning while i was there from customer service in various depts, stock controls, receiving/processing/stacking stock, front of store service counters etc- u name it- i did it. circumstances- and luck- being in the right place at the right time- landed me my current job- (book store shop assistant) and my 8yr anniversary is just around the cnr leaving my old job was one of the best things that has happened to me. the work is hands on- from receiving/returning stock- ordering- customer service. its great coz over time ive gotten to know the customers/what they like to read etc- and i can actually spend time with them- customer service is a big thing i also do all the book work for my husbands current job- as he is self employed. seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

Since I was 13, I've had 7 jobs. I eft most of them because I wasn't getting paid enough and I left the last one because I hated working there. I made loads of money but I wasn't happy.

I've had 11 jobs since I was 15. That had a lot to do with me moving a lot.
The first chunk were just retail jobs when I was a kid. A few jobs I left because I was bored, one was because I was really stressed out and a couple were on contract. I've never been fired.

Been working since I was 16, have had a total of 4 jobs since then. Ive been a hostess, sales person, and a clerk twice at two different jobs. I left each of these jobs for something better paying and my current job is the job I have been at the longest, 7 years! I love it here, the work is easy, good pay for what I do and having three day weekends every other week isn't too bad Rhythm floods my heart♥The melody it feeds my soul

I got fired once. I fucking CRIED Awwww.. The closest I came to being fired was when I was accused of doing something I didn't do. They gave me a warning instead, so I told them to forget it. I didn't want to work for people who didn't believe me and I quit right there. I also wrote a letter explaining the situation to the prez of the company and they ended up begging me not to leave. I left anyway. For years they asked me to come back. Fuck 'em.

I'm only on my 5th since I was 16! I started at a grocery store and stayed until I graduated college, at the same time I worked at a hair supply store and a retail clothing store. After I graduated college I worked at a law firm and quit within 8 months, I've been at Brown University ever since....8 years
School starts next month, I'll be done in 8 months and then I'll be looking to do some free lance stuff and hopefully be out of Brown in 2 years. Good God please get me out of here within 2 years...

Mine was a total surprise but I really did deserve it The job was so fucking BORING I had to talk on the phone just to stay awake So when she came to tell me she was "letting me go" I thought she meant I could go home EARLY that DAY I was all shocked & shit, stormed out all pouty & cried to my bf when I got home I was so used to employers falling in love w/ me, which they usually do. But it was the best thing that could have happened to me - I was getting too comfy w/ a pay check & buying too much shit. I would have stayed far too long just to fill up my closet, who knows where I would have ended up

As I mentioned, the Lodge closed, but I quit Gantos because my Grandfather was dying and I needed to help my Mom take care of him. The manager thought I was lying, and one day when I stopped in, she said, "How's your Grandfather? " I said, "He died last month," and she looked like a jerk. The telemarketing job was PAINFUL. I couldn't take the hanging up!!! I left he day care center because I was graduating. Left the 1st private school because the Principal was a Racist Bee-otch and she played favorites among the teachers. I stayed 11 years because I was trying to finish my teaching degree, and then I kept hoping that things would change. The 2nd private school decided to have the full-time teachers work year-round. I stay at my present school because I love the kids, I like the teaching assignment, and I like most of my coworkers. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing.
