Why not. I would.

I wanted to but I would have had to do it on my own, and it just wouldn't have been the same

no I don't know anybody who eloped...my aunt went to the justice of the peace when she married her second husband, but she did that because she already had a wedding when she got married to her awful first husband, so the second time around she felt all that was needed was her and her honey.

Me, I wouldn't mind eloping just to get away from the stress of having a wedding ceremony. I know my family would get on my everlasting nerves and my boyfriends mother isn't a picnic either...but being that i'm an only child, my mother would be very disappointed if I don't have a big elaborate wedding. But who knows, i got to get asked to be a wife first.

best friends did it. well, jason anyway. pam didn't know she was going to get married.
jason surprised her in hawaii. they got married on the beach.
trina and troy did it, although we knew ahead of time and were invited.
her parents and brother went with them. they were married on the beach in cuba.

most everyone i know went away to get married and then you return to have the
wedding celebration with friends and family. it's what i would do too.

I might, if and when I were to get married. I always thought it would be romantic to elope to Hawaii, and get married on the beach somewhere.

i'd love to, but it'd hurt my mom so much i know i can't.

My cousin and her husband eloped. Lawd, all hell broke loose when everyone found out

I wish i had of...but i had a big to-do b/c it was my mums dying wish. actually she lived 20 more yrs after the wedding.


Mum did pay for the invitations...& the food.....Just think of all the $$ we COULD have saved if i had eloped!~~

yup..i think BIG weddings are a waste of $$...doesnt it make better sence to take that $20,000 & use it as a down payment on a home?

christy and doug invited immediate family away for theirs.
but as all secrets do, it came out before the wedding.
i think it's better if you tell people "we're eloping to ____, see you when we get back."



at this point in my life i have NO desire for a big complicated wedding.
my parents, his parents, my one sister... away somewhere warm in the dead of winter.
the beach is overdone though. mountainside, riverside, mesa in arizona

Elope is such a weird word. Looks like it's backwards.

We are running off to another country to get married. Just the two of us..oh and one of his mates to be a witness and to take pics.

Not really eloping, everyone knows and is happy for us. We are getting a lot of these kinds of comments "I wish we had done that". We just picked a place that we would love to honeymoon and we are going to get married while we are there. Keeping the cost and stress down for everyone.
