"What Dreams May Come"

Starring Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr. Anybody a fan of this movie? Because my grandmother (who was my mom's mother) died a month and a half ago (at the mere age of 68, from a heart attack) and eversince then, Mom's been going through a bout of "on-again, off-again" distress (and really, who can blame her?; I feel almost as bad for my great-grandmother, who's still living and has had to cope with losing her daughter). She decided to pull out this movie tonight and watch it, most likely because she's in "one of those moods."

Anyway, this movie is so amazing. I've seen it several times, and if you don't feel a thing while watching it, you truly have a heart of stone. It really does make you think about Heaven/Hell and the after-life, and is drenched in gorgeous visuals to boot.

When I first watched this film, it did little for me.

Since then, I came out, found the love of my life and now...

It makes perfect sense and I now see what the film was all about.

A beautiful movie.

I adore this movie. I've seen it several times and it always has a profound affect on me. Every time I watch I see something new and there are other things I remembered from previous viewings that I can't find again.

What's weird is, I own this movie (bought it on sale for $2.49 at Circuit City), and have never watched it.

It's on my "one of these days" list. nod

This movie really fucked me up when I saw it. There was a lot of personal turmoil going on with some very close loved ones that I was living with at the time, and this movie wrecked me.

My sweetie and I saw this film together in the theatre (the art direction is even more amazing on the big screen) and just bawled our heads off.

I don't think it's a great movie (apart from the aforementioned artistic aspects). But it's emotionally appealing - especially if you believe in that sort of love. cool

You do know the title is from Hamlet? "For in that sleep of death what dreams may come / When we have shuffled off this mortal coil."

Imago

The film was a bit wordy.

And alot of themes were in it.

But for a love story, it definitely stands out. I liked t.

It's funny though, cause all that stuff seriously works on Americans. I mean, look at the presidential election campaign ads... NO ONE in Finland would vote for anyone who makes ads like those lol
Same thang with a lot of American reality shows etc
That works really well in America but try that stuff over here... wink
