I love Family Guy. I've never been a big fan of Simpsons and my "South Park" phase has long been over
The 2 part episode that SP did was funny and kinda pathetic because Matt and Trey must feel threatened by Seth's success "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I had a buddy from work a few years back that was a huge "Family Guy" fan, and I could just not see the appeal. To me, the show fit his immature demeanor to a "T". The guy was so hung-up on that cartoon, that we took a trip to Vegas together and the poor guy even packed his VCR so he could watch his "Family Guy" DVD's... WHILE WE WERE IN LAS VEGAS!!! What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas, and most people I know that go there are trying to get laid (or otherwise LUCKY - or DRUNK!). But my buddy was sitting there in his hotel room - watching f*%cking "Family Guy"!.
But now? I think that show is the funniest thing on television, and I WILL NOT miss a show. In fact, it comes on 2, sometimes 3, times a day here in NY, where you'll find me eagerly glued to the TV screen. And yes, even I have begun collecting the DVD's. "Stewie" is probably my favorite character. I love how he has that "Gay/Intellectual" accent, yet his family only hears him speaking "Baby Talk". Brian (the Dog) cracks me up too. He's such a racist, alcoholic. Sure the show can push the boundaries a bit (well okay, A LOT) - but they seem to be pretty even-handed with who they'll offend. They even had a skit about a character that was dying of full-blown AIDS in the hospital, and the way they presented it was fairly funny (and trust me, I've had many many dear friends loose their life to that dreaded disease, but I think they would have even found the humor in that episode). In many ways, they illustrate the stupidity of a society that takes itself way too seriously. They offer me a few laughs in a world that can often be way too critical.

South Park still have that show when it comes to controversial topics and funniest to me. But Family Guy did leave the Simpsons, American DAD, and Drawn Together in the dust now !!!

There is something about "South Park" that I can't get into, and I don't know what it is. I've even been watching it from time to time these past few weeks, but at this point I can take it or leave it. Perhaps it has something to do with it's "construction paper cutout" type animation. But due to my experience with "Family Guy", I'll leave open the possibility that I may learn to like it better at sometime in the future. And yeah, I agree that "The Simpsons" are like "Walt Disney" now compared to these new cartoons out today. In fact, some of the themes in these cartoons today even make The 70's "Fritz The Cat" seem tame in comparison. And "Fritz" carried an X rating!
